What Sig Pads are everyone using? Also, the office that do not use Sig Pads, how are the progress notes signed (i.e. initialed in the note, sign with mouse, etc). Anyone know the requirements for how notes need to be signed or authorized? Lastly, I assume that a sig pad will accomdate signing progress notes, TP's, informed consents, etc. correct?

Topaz is the only one we directly support. Most denstists who use computerized progress notes do not sign them at all. However, a signature is required in a few states.

Can you use a sig pad at a remote location through terminal services?

I have no idea. It's USB-based and an expert in terminal services could tell you about USB hardware over TS.

How about the web version? I would assume that if you are using the web version that you could use the sig pad, no matter where you are.

I think a special driver or program will have to be installed with the web version for that to work, but that should be the idea... (I don't really know...Jordan will have to answer that)

Is that still going to limit our ability to go to linux and run the web version...trying to get drivers for OS's other than windows?

Microsoft has not yet decided how to handle hardware with SilverLight. It is a "light" framework after all , so they might never support hardware. The silverlight version might grow to the point where we create a supplemental addon that could be easily installed by the user to handle things that SilverLight is too light for. The addon would most likely only work on Windows.
